When a Career Needs a Runway to Take Off
09:00 | 27/07/2026

After years of accumulating experience, what many managers seek is no longer a higher title, but an opportunity to make an impact on a greater scale. Through Global Leaders, ROX Group aims to open a new development journey for leaders who are ready to step onto the global stage.

From Managers to Value Creators

After years of leading teams, managing projects and building management experience, many professionals begin seeking challenges on a larger scale: a new market, a new sector or an opportunity to lead organisations with greater influence. At that point, the objective is no longer merely to manage their current responsibilities effectively, but to become someone capable of creating value on a broader scale.

This is also why an increasing number of managers are choosing to step beyond their comfort zones and work in international environments. More than a change in position, this marks a transition from management capability to leadership capability, where adaptability, a global mindset and executive resilience become essential requirements.

This trend is also reflected in the 2025 Global Employee Mobility Survey conducted by CERC and Ipsos. The survey found that 69% of employees worldwide believe international work experience delivers long-term career benefits; among senior leaders, the figure rises to 77%. This indicates that working in an international environment is increasingly regarded as an important milestone in the development journey of experienced managers.

As many Vietnamese enterprises enter the Go Global phase, the need for leaders capable of operating in multinational environments is becoming increasingly evident. This not only creates opportunities for enterprises to prepare their succession pipelines, but also provides a new “runway" for managers who are ready to embark on a more ambitious stage of their careers.

Going Further with Global Leaders

After 30 years of development and the successful establishment of a strong multi-sector ecosystem in Vietnam, ROX Group is bringing its aspiration to take Vietnamese values further into the world to life. Against this backdrop, ROX Group has developed the Global Leaders programme as a journey for managers seeking to advance to the next level of their careers.

Global Leaders is a critical link in ROX Group's talent development and leadership succession strategy.

Notably, Global Leaders is not designed for the majority. According to ROX Group, the programme is intended for managers who have reached a mature stage in their professional experience and are ready for a new phase of development. Priority is given to candidates aged between 35 and 45, with approximately 10 years of experience, including at least five years in management roles, and a professional background in sectors such as real estate and energy.

In addition to professional expertise, the enterprise requires candidates to be able to work in English, adapt to multicultural environments and be ready to assume leadership roles in international markets.

Upon joining Global Leaders, each candidate follows a personalised two-year development roadmap aligned with a target leadership position, with continuous guidance from mentors, coaches and the Group's senior leadership team.

Rather than merely helping candidates strengthen their management capabilities, Global Leaders aims to facilitate a deeper transition: from operational managers to leaders capable of opening new markets, building organisations and guiding enterprises in international environments.

To achieve this, candidates will directly address real-world business challenges, undertake demanding assignments, participate in strategic projects and have opportunities to gain experience in international markets. The entire journey is designed to enable participants to grow through hands-on leadership and executive experience in multicultural environments.

Notably, Global Leaders is not a standalone initiative, but forms part of ROX Group's people development strategy. Over the years, the Group has gradually established an integrated talent development system encompassing capability enhancement, career path development and leadership succession planning. Global Leaders is the critical link dedicated to the leaders who will accompany ROX on the next stage of its internationalisation journey.

Through its leadership succession planning programmes, ROX Group is gradually building a talent development system that supports its long-term strategy.

ROX Group's Human Resources Director shared: “We are not only looking for people who have already succeeded in management roles, but also for those who continue to aspire to grow. Global leadership is defined not by a title or the country in which a person works, but by the ability to learn, adapt and lead people through new challenges. Global Leaders is designed to accompany them on that development journey."

Alongside the development journey, ROX Group provides a dedicated system of financial and non-financial benefits for participants in the succession planning programme, including ESOP, retention bonuses, financial assistance, family care and various other attractive benefits, enabling the leadership team to confidently pursue long-term goals together with the enterprise.

For managers seeking a turning point in their careers, the greatest value of Global Leaders may not lie in receiving a new title immediately after completing the programme. More valuable is the opportunity to take on challenges and gradually prepare for a greater role, becoming leaders capable of guiding enterprises in new markets while making their own mark on the globalisation journey of an increasingly integrated Vietnam.
