Continuing the journey of bringing high art to the public, with the companionship of ROX Group and MSB, the ballet “Romeo and Juliet" led Hanoi audiences through the many shades of love—from passion and hope to tragedy and eternity.

During the final nights of March, the auditorium of Ho Guom Opera House was filled to capacity. Many attendees could not hide their excitement as they experienced one of the world's most renowned ballet masterpieces, “Romeo and Juliet." According to the Organizing Committee, tickets for the performances on March 26 and 27 sold out immediately upon release, demonstrating the growing appeal of classical ballet in Hanoi.

Transcending the immortal pages of the great playwright William Shakespeare, the love story of Romeo and Juliet has been interpreted through many art forms. On the stage of Ho Guom Opera House, Russian State Ballet (Moscow) presented a vivid version told through the refined language of ballet, seamlessly blended with the dramatic music of Sergei Prokofiev, creating a deeply emotional and haunting experience.

This version, choreographed by Vyacheslav Gordeev—a legend of Russian ballet—preserved the classical spirit while enhancing theatrical expression.

Mstislav Arefiev (as Romeo) and Alla Valieva (as Juliet)—two talented artists of Russian ballet with numerous notable achievements—delivered emotionally rich performances, including impressive pas de deux sequences featuring exquisite pointe technique.

The movements were at once gentle and flowing like silk, yet also intense, passionate, and profoundly captivating.

The pas de deux were executed with virtuosic technique and seamless coordination between the artists, forming emotional climaxes that stood out as highlights of the performance.

The artists of the Russian State Ballet once again affirmed their class with impeccable technique, refined expression, and compelling physical storytelling.

In the auditorium, many audience members fell silent during climactic moments, then erupted into prolonged applause and shouts of “bravo" as the curtain closed. The resonance between performers and audience created a truly complete and emotionally powerful evening of art.

During the Days of Russian Culture in Hanoi, the two performances of “Romeo and Juliet," following the success of “The Nutcracker," continued to offer the capital's audience a fully immersive emotional journey.

With the companionship of ROX Group, the three-night Russian ballet series not only delivered world-class artistic experiences but also contributed to nurturing public appreciation habits and inspiring the creative aspirations of Vietnam's academic arts. Supporting classical values in reaching new audiences also marks a refined milestone in the Group's 30-year journey of Creating and Reaching Further, elevating quality of life, aesthetic taste, and enriching new urban cultural experiences.
