The concert “Melodies of Triumph" delivered rich layers of harmony in both structure and emotion. European classical music was delicately present in the heart of Hanoi, becoming part of the city's refined rhythm of life.

“Melodies of Triumph" offered an emotionally rich symphonic experience.
A New Vitality for Classical Music
On the evening of April 19, at Ho Guom Opera House, “Melodies of Triumph" created a meticulously staged musical space where the audience could not only listen but also “live" within each layer of sound. The program was accompanied by ROX Group and Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB).

The violin and oboe duet created a refined dialogue on the stage of Ho Guom Opera House.
The program opened with a double concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by violinist Chuong Vu—highly regarded for his refined, poetic style—and oboist Wei Xiang, a promising young artist from Singapore. The sound of the violin and oboe blended seamlessly, creating a richly nuanced, refined, and evocative “dialogue."

The piano duet was one of the program's most memorable highlights.
This was followed by a piano duet performance by artists Nguyen Trinh Huong and Nguyen Huy Phuong in Concerto for Two Pianos in D minor, FP.61 by Francis Poulenc. The piece carried a playful spirit, blending neoclassical and jazz elements, opening a lively dialogue between the two pianos and the orchestra.
The coordination between the two artists clearly demonstrated strong synergy as they continuously alternated roles of leading and supporting, while the orchestra not only provided accompaniment but also contributed depth to the musical dialogue.
After the intermission, Symphony No. 4 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky opened a more intense emotional space. The theme of “fate" was vividly portrayed through layers of sound—at times urgent, at times tormented, then bursting forth—creating a sustained climax that resonated powerfully throughout the auditorium.
Leading the entire program was conductor Franz Schottky. With experience collaborating with many international orchestras such as the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra dell'Arena di Verona, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, and Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, he brought a conducting style that was clear, restrained, yet full of inner strength—allowing ample space for emotions to unfold.

One audience member shared that conductor Franz Schottky's style was “graceful, flexible, and not confined." According to this attendee, the program maintained coherence and completeness, with melodic lines guiding listeners through various emotional ranges, clearly reflecting the distinct styles of three composers spanning Baroque, neoclassical, and Romantic periods. “Without relying on too many isolated highlights, the entire concert retained its appeal as a seamless and accessible journey," the audience member commented.
Creating and Reaching Further with Artistic Excellence
“Melodies of Triumph" has concluded, yet its resonance lingers—not only in the melodies of Bach, Tchaikovsky, or Poulenc, but also in the sense of a changing Hanoi, where art is becoming more accessible and venues like Ho Guom Opera House are turning into meeting points for a new lifestyle.
