On the evening of March 20, 2025, Ho Guom Theater became a rendezvous for art enthusiasts as the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra presented the concert The Masterpieces of Classicism & Romanticism. ROX Group and MSB partnered to bring the essence of classical music to Vietnamese audiences.

True to its name, the concert took the audience on a musical journey from the Classical to the Romantic period, showcasing representative works by three great composers: Gioachino Rossini, Franz Krommer, and Felix Mendelssohn.

The Hanoi Symphony Orchestra delivered refined, romantic, and exhilarating sounds
Under the baton of conductor Yuri Tkachenko, an Honored Artist of Russia (2002) and the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orenburg State Symphony Orchestra (Orenburg, Russia). The concert also featured clarinetist Hoang Ngoc Anh Quan, who trained in the Netherlands and has made significant contributions to Vietnam's music scene through education and performance. People's Artist Bui Cong Duy played a crucial role as the Artistic Director, guiding and enhancing the concert's professional quality.
As the first notes of the overture from the opera The Barber of Seville resonated, the auditorium was immersed in an elegant and captivating atmosphere, opening the door to a vibrant classical world.
Following this, the talented clarinetist Hoang Ngoc Anh Quan performed Franz Krommer's Clarinet Concerto in E-flat Major, Op. 36.

Closing the concert was Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 Italian in A Major, a work inspired by the composer's travels in Italy, capturing his deep impressions of this beautiful country.
Beyond delivering world-renowned concertos, the program also marked an ambitious artistic endeavor, highlighting the meaningful collaboration between artist Bui Cong Duy and distinguished international musicians. Despite the concert's 90-minute duration, the unceasing applause kept the artists on stage, acknowledging the audience's appreciation.
The endless ovations were a testament to the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra's enduring appeal in the academic music sphere. Originating from the Hanoi Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra is a collective of professors, lecturers, soloists, and outstanding students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
